Automatic Spring End Grinding Machines gives economical
grinding of exact length of springs in large or small
batches, with: ends parallel – axis and ends truly
square – simultaneous grinding at both ends – use of
both methods of grinding i.e. crush grinding or down
feed grinding. The machines can be supplied in three
different configurations.
The machine operates in two
different modes.
1.
CRUSH
GRINDING:
In this process the distance between the
two grinding wheels is set to the required spring ground
length. The springs are then fed through the loading
plate between the grinding wheels, removing the excess
material to the desired length. In this process the
loading plate turns relatively slowly. The grinding can
be achieved in single or multiple pass.
2.
Down
feed Grinding:
This process can be achieved by Power
Mode and Time Mode.
In this method the loading plate turns more rapidly. The
upper wheel performs a programmed, variable feed and
return cycle, during which a spark-out phase of variable
time is included, to enable the required quality and
length tolerances to be obtained.
During this process the power-responsive mode (Power
mode) can be selected by turning a switch on main panel.
This control mode automatically adjusts the wheel down
feed according to the current consumed by the grinding
wheel motor and is advantageous when grinding relatively
stiff springs.
This method should be used in all cases where close
tolerances are required and when grinding very
closed-coiled springs.
The setting of the cycle is done with help of Electronic
scale with Digital readout, PLC and Ammeter control.
