Several machining processes such as
gear hobbing, broaching, gun drilling, turning on single
and multi spindle automats use straight cutting oil as
coolant.
The cutting oil sticks to chips and components as a
result of adhesion and surface tension. These chips are
stored in chip yards and the oil is recovered by normal
traditional way allowing oil to drain by gravity.
However oil sticking due to adhesion and surface tension
cannot be recovered and thus is wasted resulting in
major financial losses.
The Automatic Bottom Discharge Chip Wringer indigenously
developed by M/s Das Precision Machine Tools Pvt. Ltd.
can be used to recover oil form chips positively and has

These units are
offered in two different models BD – 1 and BD – 2 with
handling capacities of 1 Kg. and 2 Kg. per minute.

Handling chips in small, medium or large machine shops

Long and curly chips from machining centers are conveyed
by Conveyor or manually loaded to Chip
Shredder where they are shredded into desired size,
this chip shredder has an online protection for
overload. After chips are shredded they are conveyed
to Automatic Bottom Discharge Wringer where these
are processed to separate oil sticking onto the chips as
a result of adhesion and surface tension and the dry
chips are discharged at bottom in the trolley.
After wringing chips these are conveyed by a Conveyor
to briquetting machine manufactured by DPMT where they
are compacted in form of cubes, which are of less than
one third volume of the normal chips, making it
convenient and economical to handle and transport. This
full line for chip handling comes with a complete
sophisticated control panel for the system well equipped
with safety provision. |

Incase of
aluminum, brass or cast iron chips where they tends to
stick onto the wire mesh on the basket a brush actuated
with pneumatic cylinder is provided to scrub the basket
after every cycle facilitating in discharging the same
after every cycle. |
